Free Science Festival Celebrating a Community-wide Science Day

Saturday, May 3, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Del Norte County Fairgrounds

True North Organizing Network is partnering with Del Norte Unified School District (DNUSD) to host a one-of-a-kind, hands-on science experience for the community—made possible by the generous support of Klamath Promise Neighborhood (KPN).

KPN is a place-based initiative committed to turning neighborhoods of concentrated poverty into neighborhoods of opportunity, ensuring every child has access to great schools and strong family and community support systems.

While children at Del Norte schools will enjoy site-specific science events throughout the week, the main community-wide event will take place on Saturday, May 3rd at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds from 10 AM to 4 PM. This free event is open to the public and will feature:

• Interactive STEAM (science – technology – engineering – art – math) activities hosted by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI)
• A giant, walk-around Earth Dome and science stage show presented by Mobile Ed
• Local community booths offering activities, information, and giveaways
• Raffle prizes, free swag, and healthy snacks for attendees

This festival grew out of strong relationships between DNUSD, True North, and parent leaders who are committed to creating joyful, accessible learning opportunities for all.

Join us to celebrate science, community, and what’s possible when we work together to uplift youth and families in Del Norte.
