The fee includes two nights in a private room, delicious meals, all art materials, a plein air painting session overlooking the river, and more. About the Artist, Maureen McGarry
Maureen McGarry has spent decades painting the landscapes of Northern California, always returning to watercolor for what she calls its closeness to nature — pure pigments, water as solvent, and an honesty that other mediums can’t quite match. She chose to live in Humboldt County for its breathtaking natural environment, and that sense of wonder has never left her work.
A former Artist-in-Residence with the Redwood Parks Conservancy, Maureen knows this landscape intimately — and knows how to help others see it through an artist’s eye.
Teaching is equally central to her life. She believes that finding a way to express the vision inside each of us is what makes us whole, and she has spent her career helping people of all ages and experience levels find their muse. At this retreat she brings that philosophy to one of the most inspiring landscapes in California.
