Golf in Crescent City, California
Crescent City has two golf courses, including one USGA rated course. Wedge a challenging adventure in between river relaxation and beach-bumming at King’s Valley Golf Course and the Del Norte Golf Course. Both courses offer an avid or beginner golfer plenty of on-green challenges and beautiful scenery.
King’s Valley Golf Course
Located at the junction of Highways 100 and 199 just as you leave Crescent City to head to Grant’s Pass, King’s Valley’s 9-hole golf course presents an energizing short game with par threes and a single par four hole. Some greens feature coastal pines and alders, making for a scenic challenge. Teach your kids to drive the ball down the 200-yard driving range and then settle in for a hot dog at the snack bar.
The King’s Valley Golf Course is open seasonally from May to December. Inquire about renting the course and clubhouse for a private golfing event or weddings.
Del Norte Golf Course
The Del Norte Golf Course recently reopened under new ownership. This gem of a 9-hole course — with alternate tee locations for the back 9 — is tucked between the Smith River and the mountains between Hiouchi and Crescent City. This is the only course in Del Norte County where you can golf among our signature redwood trees. Holes 8 to 9 prove to be a fun challenge where you’ll have to swing just right to get around the curved treeline dotted with towering redwoods. If you’re lucky you might spot deer, elk, silver fox, bear and red tail hawks on the 95-acre course that also includes several scenic ponds full of ducks, Bass, and Blue Heron.
The clubhouse and grounds are available for private golf events and even outdoor weddings. Their banquet meeting space can hold up to 70 people. If you need more space, consider renting the entire clubhouse.
The course is open year-round, weather depending, and offers an on-course bar cart service, as well as a comfy clubhouse experience with plenty of room to stretch out and snack while catching a game on one of the big screen TVs.
